Privacy Policy

Suasoria (suasoria.app) is a course in reasoning, used by adults and by children. It is built to need as little about you as possible, and this page says exactly what that is.
Suasoria is operated by Mandy Schroeder, an individual doing business as Suasoria ("Suasoria," "we," "us"). Suasoria is built and run day-to-day by her son, Luke Moran-Schroeder.
If anything below stops being true — if the app starts collecting something new — this page changes in the same release, and the effective date above changes with it. A policy that lags the product is worse than none, because it is a false statement rather than a missing one.
An account is required
Suasoria is built around an account — it is what lets your progress follow you to another device, and what makes the child protections below possible in the first place. You may put off creating one and try a lesson first; the work you do meanwhile stays on your device and moves into the account when you make it. The account holds:
- An email address, used to sign in and to reset a password. Nothing else. No newsletter, no marketing.
- A display name — a first name or a nickname. A full name is never asked for.
- An age band, if you offer one. It is optional, it is a broad range rather than a birthdate, and it is used only to suggest a starting point.
- How you heard about Suasoria, if you tell us. Asked once, after your account already exists, and always skippable — this is marketing data and nothing else, used to understand how people find the app.
- Your progress: which lessons you have finished, which skills you have practiced, and how long you have studied.
If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and name. It tells us nothing else, and we ask it for nothing else.
Children
No child's email address is ever collected. A learner under 13 opens their account with a parent or guardian's email address, which we verify by writing to it. They then choose their own password and a name to be known by — the field asks them not to use their real one. There is no birthdate, no photograph, and no address of their own, and there is no way to supply one.
The child signs in with that account afterwards without an adult present. The parent's address is the account's contact address: it is where a password reset goes, and it is how a parent can reach their child's progress or ask us to delete it.
We use the parent's address to give notice and obtain consent, and for nothing else — no newsletter, no marketing, and it is never passed to anyone. This is possible because Suasoria does not disclose information to third parties at all: there is no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party script anywhere in it.
A learner between 13 and 17 holds their own account with their own email address, and no parent's address is asked for — except where the law where they live sets a higher age for consenting to their own data being handled. That is 16 in Germany and Ireland, 15 in France, 14 in Spain and Italy, and 13 in the United States and the United Kingdom. Below the local age, the same parent's email step above applies.
A separate route exists for classrooms. A teacher or a homeschooling parent can create logins for their students from inside their own account — a username and a PIN they set and can reset. A student reached this way gives us nothing at all, not even a parent's address, because the adult who made the login is already the account holder responsible for them.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. If we learn that a child has provided such information to us directly, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes this has happened can contact us using the address at the bottom of this page.
What this app does not do
- No analytics, of any kind.
- No tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or third-party scripts.
- No advertising.
- Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with anybody for marketing.
- No profile is built about you beyond the lessons you have done.
Where it is kept
Accounts and progress are stored with Supabase, on servers in Canada. The site is served by Vercel. Each of them holds the data on our behalf under their own security and processing terms, and does not use it for anything of their own.
Access is enforced by the database itself: your work is readable by you, and by the adult whose group you belong to if you are a child. It is not readable by other learners.
Payments
Suasoria does not take payments yet. When it does, card details will be handled by Stripe and will never reach our servers. This page will say so before that happens, not after.
Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Export your progress as a file, from the settings page.
- Delete your account, which deletes the progress attached to it. If you would like an account removed and cannot do it yourself, write to us and we will do it.
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by writing to us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to know what categories of information we hold. Because we collect only an email address, a display name, an optional age band, an optional note on how you heard about us, and lesson progress, and because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, most of these rights are already exercised in full by the export and delete tools described above. Contact us if you would like to exercise a right that isn't covered by them directly.
Retention
We keep account and progress data for as long as the account exists. Deleting an account deletes the progress attached to it.
Changes
If what is collected changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. Continued use of Suasoria after a change means you accept the revised policy.
